Parent involvement in our program is first and foremost an approach, as evidenced in our fundamental commitment to inclusiveness and the ongoing communication that we foster to accomplish this. In addition, we facilitate bringing parents/guardians together, with each other and HS staff, for a range of events and activities throughout the year, including Parent Committee meetings, parent workshops, and celebrations.
We ensure that our parent involvement programming, whenever feasible, is parent-initiated, parent-directed, and focused on programmatic content—for example, education, exchange of ideas or supporting family transitions—rather than primarily social or ceremonial in nature.
